I first worked with Andrea in 2012 to help brand and launch her Seattle-based “I love my GFF” food cart site. She had but 1 cart back then, was on the cover of the site, and the scheduler we built had enough room for up to 2 carts. How time flies.
Now Andrea’s got 3 carts, and there will be more coming in 2017.
The look wasn’t drastically different because it worked, and people loved it.
We even had a great write up on Food Truckr about it, and as far as food cart sites go, that’s pretty bad ass.
This year, we wanted to take the focus off Andrea, as there are many other wonderful people working the carts, and with the expansion, it was important to shift focus.
We also had to get mobile friendly, so we built a custom Genesis theme, dropped a lot of the heavier custom plugins we were using and built in some beautiful mobile code to make it all render well. It looks similar, but it’s a whole new baby.
Some stuff we especially loved
– The instagram feed of the fans in the footer of the site.
– The way we no longer have a separate page for the Schedule. No matter what page you’re on, it slides down to the schedule when you click on Find Us.
– The new Get Catering process is super easy. You can grab the order form right on the Contact page and submit it with your form.
So Seattle, you’re lucky. We wish we had one of these carts down the street!
